Damon Eller and the Indpendence Lumber Racing team will open up their 2008 racing season down south over the next several weeks. Damon plans on entering all ten nights of the annual 'Super Bowl of Racing' at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia, starting this Wednesday, January 23. Each of the ten nights at the newly-refurbished speedplant will pay $10,000 to the winner. Following the 'Super Bowl of Racing,' which will be held at GIS from January 23-February 2, the #I4 team will trek further south for the 'Winternationals' at the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction all six nights of Dirt Late Model action at the Tampa area venue from February 4-9. The first three races will pay $5,000 to the winner, while the next two evenings will feature $10,000 to win events. The finale on Saturday, February 9 will pay $12,000 to the winner in a race that will be taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel. In all, Damon plans to enter sixteen events in a matter of only eighteen days from January 23-February 9. The Crumpler, North Carolina native finished second in the heated Rookie of the Year battle last year and wound up ninth in the final series point standings. The ultra-competitive series will sanction over forty shows in 2008 including premier events such as the 'North/South 100,' the 'Topless 100,' the 'Jackson 100,' and the 'Diamond Nationals.'
