Damon Eller and his #I4 Dirt Late Model team were busy over the weekend, as they entered a pair of high-profile events. On Friday and Saturday, March 2-3, Damon was in action at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. The Crumpler, North Carolina native finished fourth in his heat race on Friday evening to earn a coveted starting spot in the $10,000 to win A-Main on Saturday night. After 100 green flag laps of action on the high-banks of the Volunteer Speedway, Damon brought home a solid eleventh place finish after starting fourteenth for the annual 'Spring Thaw 100.'

On Sunday, March 4, the action turned to the newly reconfigured Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. The O'Reilly Southern Allstars Series (OSAS) sanctioned the annual 'March Madness' event at the track formerly known as the "Place Your Momma Warned You About." After qualifying eighth fastest in time trials for the $10,000 to win show, Damon was involved in an incident during the course of his heat race. As a result, his #I4 MasterSbilt machine suffered heavy damage including a broken axle, which took him out of contention for a possible starting berth in the 60-lap A-Main.

The Independence Lumber Racing team and young Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year candidate Damon Eller will tackle the Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi this weekend for the annual 'Rebel Challenge' weekend. A $2,000 top prize is up for grabs on Friday, March 9, while Saturday's feature will pay the winner a cool $10,000. Both events over the weekend at Johnny Stokes' oval will be unsanctioned.
