Damon Eller in Action at Cherokee; Bulls Gap Up Next for #I4 Team!

(CRUMPLER, NORTH CAROLINA) For the first time since the 'Winternationals' at the East Bay (FL) Raceway Park in early February, the Independence Lumber Racing team took the track this past weekend at the Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. The O'Reilly Southern Allstars East Series sanctioned the annual 'March Madness' at Cherokee on Sunday, March 2 and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Damon Eller timed in third quickest in his group during qualifying and later posted a solid third place finish in his heat race to gain access into the 60-lap feature event. However, in the opening lap of the 'March Madness' main event after starting tenth, Damon was caught up in an incident and retired from the race in the twenty-third position. The #I4 team was planning on competing in a doubleheader weekend at the Carolina (NC) Speedway and the Tazewell (TN) Speedway this weekend, but inclement weather has scrapped those plans. Instead, Damon and the team will ready their equipment for the 'Running of the Bulls' on Friday and Saturday, March 14-15 at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.
