Damon Eller and his #I4 team stayed in North Carolina last week to compete in a trio of Dirt Late Model events. On Wednesday, April 18, the Independence Lumber Racing team was in action at the 311 Speedway in Madison, North Carolina for a pair of $5,000 to win shows. In the first 35-lap A-Main, Damon had a stellar run and finished fifth in the final rundown. After the top ten were inverted for the second 35-lap affair, the Crumpler, North Carolina native had another strong run going until he blew a tire late in the race. Damon was able to rebound; however, to salvage a respectable eighth place performance. For complete results from the 'Twin 35s' at 311, please visit www.new311speedway.com! The action then turned to the Dirt Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21. Damon was forty-ninth fastest of the ninety-two entrants in qualifying for the 2nd Annual 'Circle K Colossal 100' and later finished seventh in his competitive heat race due to mechanical problems. He also experienced mechanical gremlins in the C-Main on Saturday and unfortunately could not transfer to the $50,000 to win, 100-lap main event.
