Damon Eller and the Independence Lumber Racing team traveled to the Commonwealth of Kentucky over the weekend for the third annual running of the '99' at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City. After finishing sixth in his heat race and fifth in the B-Main, it appeared as though Damon would be forced to load up and watch the $24,999 to win feature event from the grandstands. However, his name was drawn out of the list of non-qualifiers for a special track provisional.

The Crumpler, North Carolina native rolled off twenty-fifth for the start of the 99-lap A-Main. Damon was able to stay out of trouble and gained thirteen spots in the race en route to a respectable twelfth position. He is now nineteenth in the latest Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following last weekend's '99' and is leading the heated Rookie of the Year battle over Justin Rattliff by a mere five points. You can read more about the '99' online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The Independence Lumber Racing team will be back in action this coming Friday and Saturday, May 11-12 at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the inaugural 'Superchips Diamond Nationals' at the Show-Me State oval and a $25,000 top prize is up for grabs! If all goes well at Wheatland on Friday and Saturday, the #I4 team will then travel to the Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois on Sunday, May 13 for a $7,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series show. You can learn more about this event by logging on to www.worldofoutlaws.com!
