Damon Eller and the Independence Lumber Racing team is coming off a very busy week, as they competed in three high-profile Dirt Late Model events in three different states. The #I4 team made a last minute decision to attend the $2,500 to win Northern Allstars Late Model Series show at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on Thursday night, May 10. After qualifying well and finishing second in his heat race, Damon rolled off from the inside of the third row for the 30-lap feature event. He got up to as high as fourth during the course of the race before winding up in the fifth position. The action then turned to the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on Friday and Saturday, May 11-12 for the inaugural running of the $25,000 to win 'Superchips Diamond Nationals.' Damon was seventh fastest out of the sixty entrants in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying on Friday evening and later ran second in his competitive heat race. After starting seventh in the 100-lap A-Main on Saturday evening, Damon wound up posting a respectable thirteenth place effort in the marquee event, which was taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel. Their busy extended weekend of racing action concluded on Sunday at the Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series hosted a special $7,000 to win show on Mother's Day at the Illinois oval. Damon was fourteenth quickest in time trials and then ran third in his heat race. The Crumpler, North Carolina native was credited with a twenty-first place finish in the 40-lap A-Main after starting from the outside of row five. The #I4 team has another trio of events lined up for this upcoming week. On Wednesday, May 16, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will host a $10,000 to win show at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Damon will then pick back up on the Lucas Oil Late Model Series schedule over the weekend in a pair of events in Iowa and Illinois. The Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa will hold a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race on Friday, May 18, while the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois will do the same on Saturday night. Damon comes into the weekend events at Farley and LaSalle leading the heated Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year battle.
