Damon Eller and the Independence Lumber Racing team invaded Iowa and Illinois over the weekend for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events! On Friday night, May 18, Damon was in action at the Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa for a $10,000 to win show. The Crumpler, North Carolina native finished third in his heat race and rolled off from the inside of the fifth row for the 50-lap A-Main. Damon had a strong car throughout the course of the feature event, as he improved two spots en route to a solid seventh place effort.

The action then turned to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 19 for another $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. After finishing fifth in his heat race, Damon advanced to the 'Spring Shootout' main event by virtue of his B-Main victory. With the track turning one-lane in the feature, Damon was not able to move forward and had to settle for a twenty-first place finish. He is now thirteenth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings and second behind Justin Rattliff in the heated Rookie of the Year battle. Earlier in the week, Damon slung dirt in a World of Outlaws Late Model Series event on Wednesday, May 16 at the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. Unfortunately for the #I4 team, Damon was not able to transfer into the $10,000 to win feature event after running eighth in his heat race and fifth in the B-Main.
