Damon Eller Heads to Kentucky Following Pair of Top Ten Performances!

(CRUMPLER, NORTH CAROLINA) The Independence Lumber Racing team, with Damon Eller behind the wheel of their #I4 MasterSbilt, entered a pair of Dirt Late Model events in Tennessee and South Carolina over the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend. Their doubleheader weekend kicked off last Saturday night, May 24 at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee. After finishing sixth in his heat race to advance to the $5,000 to win O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series sanctioned feature event, Damon passed eight cars en route to a solid ninth place performance.

Following a day off on Sunday, the dirt-slinging action turned to the Travelers Rest Speedway in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The Carolina Clash Late Model Series sanctioned a $4,000 to win show on Memorial Day at Travelers Rest. In his first visit to the facility, Damon posted the fastest lap in qualifying, which earned him the rights to the pole position for the A-Main. During the course of the feature, the Crumpler, North Carolina native battled a tight racecar and wound up sixth in the final rundown. The #I4 team will travel to the Commonwealth of Kentucky this weekend to round out the month of May. The Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky will host a $3,000 to win O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series show tonight, May 30. The Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky will then be the track of choice on Saturday, May 31, as a $10,000 top prize will be on the line in the annual 'Ralph Latham Memorial,' which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
