Damon Eller and his #I4 team invaded the Commonwealth of Kentucky over the weekend for a pair of high-profile events. On Friday evening, June 1, Damon was in action at the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. After a disappointing seventh place effort in his heat race, the Crumpler, North Carolina native finished second in his B-Main to transfer into the $3,000 to win O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Series feature event. Following the end of forty green flag racing laps, Damon was credited with a twenty-first place finish in the final rundown of the A-Main. The action then turned to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday, June 2 for the annual 'Ralph Latham Memorial.' Damon qualified well in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series time trials and later ran second in his competitive heat race. After starting the $10,000 to win main event from the inside of the fourth row, Damon drove his #I4 MasterSbilt / Jay Dickens machine to a seventeenth place performance in the 50-lapper. The annual 'Ralph Latham Memorial' was taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel for viewing later in the year. Damon is now eleventh in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings and second in the heated Rookie of the Year battle.
