Damon Eller and his #I4 team have a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events on their weekend schedule, starting Friday night, June 22. The Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina will play host to a $10,000 to win show tomorrow evening. The action will then turn to the Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, Virginia on Saturday for another $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race. The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand Saturday at Bill Sawyer's pristine facility to tape all of the action. For more information on the weekend events, please visit www.lucasdirt.com! The Independence Lumber Racing team is coming off a busy three-race stretch with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series last weekend. Damon had his best run on Thursday, June 14 at the Duck River Speedway in Wheel, Tennessee. After finishing fourth in his heat race, the Crumpler, North Carolina native advanced all the way up to the fifth spot in the $7,000 to win A-Main. Unfortunately, Damon spun his #I4 MasterSbilt / Jay Dickens machine after reaching the top five and had to rally from the tail to salvage a fourteenth place performance. The action then turned to the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on Friday for another $7,000 to win event. Damon was poised to transfer into the feature through his heat race, but a blown motor on the last lap of the preliminary event took him out of serious contention for the rest of the evening. The third and final race of the weekend took place on Saturday at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. Unfortunately for the #I4 team, Damon was unable to make the starting field for the $10,000 to win event after finishing fifth in his heat race and fifth in the B-Main. Damon is now tied for tenth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings and is tied for second in the heated Rookie of the Year chase.
