Damon Eller and his #I4 team competed in a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows in their home state of North Carolina and in Virginia over the weekend. On Friday night, June 22, Damon invaded the Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina for a $10,000 to win event. After running fifth in his heat race and second in the B-Main, Damon rolled off nineteenth for the 50-lap A-Main. The Crumpler, North Carolina native was able to advance nine spots during the course of the feature event en route to a respectable tenth place performance.

The action then turned to the Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, Virginia on Saturday evening for another $10,000 to win race. Damon's second place finish in his heat race earned him the fifth starting spot for the 50-lap main event. In front of the SPEED Channel cameras, Damon was able to bring his #I4 machine home with a thirteenth place finish. He is now ninth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point battle and second in the Rookie of the Year standings. The extended weekend leading up to the 4th of July is up in the air for the Independence Lumber Racing team. Two events are planted firmly on their upcoming schedule; however, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction a pair of events in the Buckeye State of Ohio. The Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will play host to a $10,000 to win show on Sunday, July 1, while the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio will do the same on Tuesday, July 3.
