Damon Eller and his #I4 team invaded the Buckeye State of Ohio leading up to the 4th of July for a trio of high-profile Dirt Late Model events. On Sunday evening, July 1, Damon finished third in his heat race at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, which earned him the rights to the outside of the ninth row for the 75-lap A-Main. During the course of the $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race, Damon held his own and finished in the eighteenth position.

The action then turned to a $10,000 to win UMP Summernationals event on Monday night, July 2 at the Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio. After setting fast time in his group during qualifying, Damon was involved in a heat race incident, which took him out of contention for the rest of the evening. The Independence Lumber Racing team then traveled to the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio on Tuesday, July 3 for yet another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series show. Damon finished fifth in his heat race, won his B-Main, and ran twenty-first in the $10,000 to win feature event on Tuesday evening. The Crumpler, North Carolina native comes into the July 6-7 weekend ninth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. On Friday night, July 6, the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee will play host to a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. The Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee will then do the same on Saturday evening, July 7. The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand Saturday at the "Gap" to tape all of the exciting action for broadcast later in the year.
