The Independence Lumber Racing team, with Damon Eller behind the wheel of their #I4 MasterSbilt / Jay Dickens machine, will take this coming weekend off prior to competing in three high-profile shows next week. Damon and the team will travel to Illinois and Iowa early next week for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events. The LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois will hold a $10,000 to win show on Monday, August 6, while the Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa will do the same on Tuesday evening. Damon comes into the pair of events ninth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. You can read more concerning these two races online at www.lucasdirt.com. Next weekend will take the #I4 team to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky for the annual 'North/South 100.' The unsanctioned event will feature qualifying on Friday evening, August 10 and heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap A-Main on Saturday night, August 11. In addition to Damon competing at the 1/2-mile, high-banked oval, Mitchell, Indiana driver John Gill will also pilot one of the Independence Lumber Racing entries in the $50,000 to win mega-event. With one event being rained out, the Crumpler, North Carolina native entered four events in the Volunteer State of Tennessee. Damon's best run of the week came on Saturday, July 28 at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee. Damon was eighth quickest in qualifying prior to finishing fifth in the final rundown of the 53-lap, $5,300 to win feature event. Below are the official results from last week in Tennessee.
