Damon Eller and his #I4 team invaded Illinois and Iowa earlier in the week for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shows. On Monday night, August 6, Damon was in action at the venerable LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. The Crumpler, North Carolina native finished fifth in his heat race before earning the third and final transfer spot in his B-Main. During the running of the $10,000 to win, 50-lap feature event, which was taped by the SPEED Channel cameras, Damon drove his new #I4 MasterSbilt / Jay Dickens machine to a twenty-second place performance.

The action then turned to the Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday evening, August 7 for another $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race. Damon qualified well and was very impressive in his heat race, as he took home the win ahead of a strong contingent of cars. After starting up front in the 50-lap A-Main, Damon fought a tight racecar throughout the race to a seventeenth place effort. The Independence Lumber Racing team will travel to the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia on Saturday evening, August 11. The Carolina Clash Late Model Series will host a $4,000 to win show this Saturday at the Wytheville area venue. In addition to Damon racing at Wythe, Mitchell, Indiana native John Gill will also pilot an Independence Lumber Racing entry during the $50,000 to win 'North/South 100' over the weekend at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky.
