The Independence Lumber Racing team, with Damon Eller behind the wheel of their #I4 MasterSbilt machine, traveled to the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia on Saturday night, August 11 for a $4,000 to win Carolina Clash Late Model Series show. Damon timed in fourth quickest in qualifying and started the 40-lap feature event from the outside of the second row. The Crumpler, North Carolina native had a very fast racecar throughout the A-Main and found himself in the lead with only three laps remaining. However, Damon suffered motor problems with only a handful of circuits left in the race and was forced to retire with a disappointing sixteenth place performance. Damon and his #I4 team will travel to Illinois and Indiana this coming weekend for pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events. On Friday night, August 17, Damon will tackle the Kankakee Motor Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois for a $10,000 to win show. The action will then turn to the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday evening, August 18 for the 28th Annual running of the 'Jackson 100.' The SPEED Channel cameras will be on hand to tape all of the exciting, dirt-slinging action from the $15,000 to win event at Brownstown. Damon comes into the weekend ninth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. You can view more information concerning these two races online at www.lucasdirt.com!

In addition to Damon's efforts, John Gill piloted a second Independence Lumber Racing entry last weekend at the Florence (KY) Speedway during the $50,000 to win 'North/South 100.' The "Modern Day Cowboy" won his heat race and finished an impressive fifth in the final rundown of the 100-lap A-Main. John will also drive one of Eller's cars this weekend at the Brownstown (IN) Speedway for the $15,000 to win 'Jackson 100.'
