The Independence Lumber Racing team recently completed a busy week of Dirt Late Model racing, which saw Damon Eller compete in three high-profile events. Their week kicked off at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on August 22-23 for the 4th Annual 'Scorcher 100.' After timing in forty-first quickest in World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying on Wednesday, August 22, Damon earned the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the ninth row for the $20,000 to win feature event on Thursday night, August 23, the Crumpler, North Carolina native suffered mechanical problems and wound up twenty-third in the final rundown of the 100-lap affair.

The action then turned to the Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, Tennessee on Friday, August 24 for a $5,000 to win O'Reilly Southern Allstars Series (OSAS) show. After advancing to the feature event through one of the three B-Mains, Damon was credited with a fifteenth place performance in the 60-lap main event.

The busy week was capped off for the #I4 team on Saturday evening, August 25 at the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky. Damon earned a hard fought fourth place finish in his heat race to transfer into the $10,000 to win 'Bluegrass Classic,' which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. In front of the SPEED Channel cameras, Damon was able to pick off five cars in the A-Main en route to an impressive ninth place effort in his first-ever visit to the central Kentucky speedplant. He is still ninth in the latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings following the annual 'Bluegrass Classic.'

Damon and his #I4 team have one lone event on their upcoming weekend schedule. They will travel to the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia for the 39th Annual 'Hillbilly 100' on Saturday, September 1. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the prestigious event, which boasts a $25,000 payday and $1,000 just to start the A-Main. Veteran Indiana racer John Gill is also planning on joining Damon at Tyler County to pilot a second Independence Lumber entry.
